My name is Grace and I took 
our class pet, Angus home.
 He is with my cat Milo 
who loves sleeping on beds.
My cat has just found a 
new yellow-eyed penguin friend.
Angus loved being at my house
because he made a nice new friend.

Angus in the spa pool

Olivia Nichols took Angus home on Wednesday.  Angus had lots of fun.  Angus and his little friend hopped in the spa.  It was cold outside.  "When it was bedtime Olivia read a story to me." said Angus.
"I had lots of fun at Olivia's house because my new friend Lisa is very cool.  It was funny when we had to dress up in togs"

On Tuesday, the reading group that is reading the novel 'The Giver' discussed what 'free choice' meant. We then went and sat on the mat and put our ideas together.

Music class

Hi everyone!  On Tuesday this week we went to Takehe class for music with Mr Philips.
It was really fun.  We had to think about what sounds there would have been in the earthquake such as car alarms, dog, screams and lots more. Here is a picture of some of them.

We also did some work on our welcoming haka with Mr Philips.  It was lots of fun but we need to be more serious.

In the weekend Olivia took me home to her place.
We did all sorts of things.
First I met her budgie Skippy, he's now my new best friend. It took a while for him to get used to me as he had never met a Hoiho before. As soon as we met he came flying over and started nibbling my feet, it tickled! After that we went for a ride in the barbie car, it's very comfortable. We went for a drive around the house, making sure the cat didn't see us! Olivia said to me that it was good that I couldn't fly because she's always trying to get Skippy down from the top of the curtain, which he never wants to come down from and if I could fly I would probably be up there as well.
I really like Skippy because he can talk to me which I really like, because not many animals can.
I can't wait to see Skippy again, he might even be able to come into class and see everyone-very exciting!

Hi I'm Angus and I am a new member of Hoiho class.
I came to New Zealand to get away From the cold weather in Antarctica and travelled around the country.
I decided to come to sunny Nelson for two weeks and was found on the beach by Ms Hood. I am loving Nelson so much that I decided to stay here and be Hoiho's pet penguin. I get photos of me put on the blog doing something different each week. This week I went to Brydie's house for a nice relaxing time in her swimming pool.

PURPLE PASSION FASHION DAY!!!!!!

Hi this is Megan , Grace and Olivia N

On the 1st of March we had a purple fashion day to raise money for Christchurch and Haiti.

It was a great success. Altogether we raised a total of over $700 dollars. The children that won the 

competition will be going to the Trafalgar Centre for the WOW fashion show.
