What it would feel like to be in an earthquake.

We were just playing, it was a normal day when suddenly the earth began to shake violently.   Mum I screamed dad earthquake.   I wanted to scream and run,  wanted to see my mum and dad but I had to stay with my little five year old sister she needed me more than my mum did right now .   so I scooped her up and jumped under the lounge room table and told her that everything would be alright.

The earthquake went for about 3min then it slowly came to an end.   I grabbed my sister and ran over to the office and right there under the desk was my mum she was shaking with fear but she was trying not to show it and she also had some blood smeared on her face that was leaking from a cut on her left cheek. She ran out and hugged us and i hugged with all my might.   I was so glad that she was OK.

then I realised "dad he's still at work" I screamed with terror in my voice. "mum will he be OK"  asked fearing the answer to the dreaded question "yes I hope so" replied my mum.   I could tell she was really scared even though she was trying to be brave so I suggested that we go to dad's work to see if he really was OK.    dad's work was just a few minutes away so we ran all the way there, but then mum let out a screech and began to cry. Dad's work building was practically smashed but the fire men were still looking for him.

five hours past and I knew I was holding on to the last shred of hope that he was still alive then suddenly two firemen were dragging a slightly limp boddie out of the ruble "dad" I yelled "hes alive he's alive".

The firemen loaded him into the ambulance and we followed them dad had a lot of cuts and bruises and when we got to the hospital that was nearly recked as well they had to amputate his leg but I was so grateful that he was alive even though the earthquake destroyed our house it can be fixed but family members can not be.
